Cosmetic Tooth Bonding
Available in a variety of natural-looking shades, composite bonding (plastic resin) restorative materials are an excellent cosmetic approach for concealing minor flaws in front teeth, such as small chipped areas or spaces between teeth. Composite fillings are often used to repair small areas of damage or decay in back teeth as well.
The Cosmetic Tooth Bonding Process
After the tooth is shaped for the restoration, a pliable composite material is applied to the tooth surface and hardened with a special curing light. Your doctor will adjust the restoration to suit your smile and bite, and you are on your way!
- Resin composite materials are mercury-free; while not as durable or long-lasting as porcelain crowns or veneers, bonding can be a less costly approach to address minor esthetic challenges in front teeth.
- We will check your restoration at your preventive visits to monitor for signs of wear or decay.
Smile Design
Bonding is also a great way to make cosmetic decisions about your smile. We often temporarily place bonding materials as a means of communicating with you to determine the shape, size and shade of your permanent porcelain crowns and veneers
Dental Implant Restoration
Replacement of Missing Teeth
Each tooth has a job to do, by providing opposing forces to surrounding teeth and stabilizing the bite. Tooth loss has a “domino effect”:
- If a missing tooth is not replaced, over time, surrounding teeth will move and shift into the empty space in the absence of necessary opposing forces.
- This process can eventually lead to problems with gum disease, loss of jaw bone support, bite and jaw dysfunction or additional tooth loss.
It is important to replace lost teeth to preserve your dental health.
Dental Implants
Dental Implants have been used for nearly half a century to replace missing teeth. These tiny prosthetics act as structural replacements for the roots of lost teeth to create a foundation for a dental crown, bridge, or for denture stabilization.
Your Smile Team
Drs. Bryan and Bryan work closely with dental specialists, including Periodontists and Oral Surgeons, to coordinate placement of dental implants. After the implant is placed, our doctors design a natural-looking crown, bridge or custom denture to complete the process.

Implant- Supported Dentures
Denture Stabilization
If your dentures are uncomfortable or loose and denture adhesive is a nuisance, an implant supported denture might be the solution you have been waiting for!
Integration and Preservation
For years, missing teeth have been associated with loss of jaw bone support due to lack of stimulation and blood flow between the teeth and jaw structures. Current research indicates that the placement of dental implants, in the absence of natural teeth, can help reduce the rate of bone loss.
How Implant Supported Dentures Work
An implant supported denture is removable for cleaning, similar to your current dentures. The difference, however, is that your new denture is fitted with special fittings that “snap” onto dental implants that have been strategically placed by a dental specialist for support. The dental implants hold the denture firmly in place, thus eliminating the need for denture adhesives.
Smile... Laugh... Enjoy!
Patients that have had their dentures secured with dental implants often comment that they can enjoy foods such as soft breads, steak and crunchy vegetables again without the fear or embarrassment of loose dentures that slip and fall.
An implant supported denture will look and function very much as your natural teeth did. A snug fit also helps prevent sore gums that typically occur with rubbing dentures in need of adjustment.

Porcelain Veneers & Crowns
The Magic of Porcelain
The artistic beauty of porcelain makes it the perfect restorative material for dentistry – available in a myriad of shades of “white”, these may be combined to achieve the luster and translucency of natural teeth. This highly polished, long-lasting material is resistant to staining from food and beverages so you always have a gorgeous, bright smile!
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin, shell-like custom porcelain coverings that are adhered to the front surfaces of teeth to enhance smile appearance.
Because they require minimal to no tooth preparation, veneers are often used to make cosmetic changes to otherwise healthy teeth, such as closing gaps, or to restore contour and shape to worn teeth to create a more youthful appearance.
Porcelain veneers are ideal for concealing minor smile imperfections, such as stained, chipped, slightly rotated or overlapped teeth.
Porcelain Crowns
Often patients that have significant staining, aged crown and bridgework, or teeth with large, discolored fillings are self-conscious about their appearance. Porcelain crowns are a beautiful, natural-looking way to achieve a fresh new look.
A crown or "cap" is used to cover a tooth that has been structurally compromised by decay, broken-down fillings, or trauma.
Crowns can be designed with porcelain facings over metal or all-porcelain, depending on biting forces and location of the tooth in the mouth.
Planning Your New Smile
Your porcelain restoration begins with a thorough examination of the teeth and gums to determine your smile shape, size, symmetry and overall oral health. Our doctors then work closely with local dental laboratory technicians to design and fabricate your porcelain veneers or crowns for proper appearance, fit, bite and speech function.

Root Canals
Root Canal Therapy
When a tooth is damaged due to decay or trauma, the nerve of the tooth can sometimes become inflamed and infected. If this occurs, a root canal procedure may be recommended to save the tooth.
- Root canal therapy involves making a small opening in the tooth and completely removing the nerve and infected tissue. The root canals are cleaned and disinfected and then sealed with special materials to help support the canal walls and prevent re-infection.
- Because removing the tooth nerve also eliminates circulatory blood flow to the tooth, a tooth that has had root canal therapy loses vitality and requires extra protection from a crown.
- Our doctors may recommend that a root canal specialist, or Endodontist, perform the root canal procedure. We then work closely with the Endodontist to coordinate placement of a dental crown following root canal treatment.
Save Your Teeth
Patients that are facing root canals often ask us if extracting the tooth is a better option. In most cases, this is not the best approach. If there is enough remaining tooth structure to support a root canal, this is usually the recommended procedure to save a tooth that has become infected, rather than extraction.
- By having root canal treatment, the tooth can remain in position and maintain its role in supporting jaw bone structures, bite balance and proper chewing.
- Tooth replacement options such as a bridge, or implant and crown are typically more costly procedures than a single root canal and crown.
